Red Pine Lake Trail

Location: Little Cottonwood Utah
Elevation to start: 7650 ft
Elevation gain/loss: 2450 ft
Distance:  7 miles
Difficulty: Strenuous/ Diffiult
Notes:  steep and VERY rocky, trail follows an old stream bed- lots of small boulders, loose rocks, and some climbing, beautiful lake, partially shaded









Training HIke #7: Squaw Trail

Location: Kanab Utah
Elevation to start: 5001 ft
Elevation gain/loss: 325 ft
Distance: 2 miles
Difficulty: easy/Moderate

Notes:  trail fades/ tough to find at times/ not well marked, risk of mountain lions, lots of hikers with dogs, nice views

Training Hike #10: White Pine Lake

Location:  Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah
Elevation to start: 7500 ft
Elevation gain/loss: +2540 ft
Distance: 9 miles
Difficulty: Strenuous

Notes: lots of streams/ wetland crossings, rocky glacial fields, bring insent repellant- insects are bad in the field areas, cold temperatures at the lake!, jogged downthe trail due to blister pain, plenty of company on the trail, Gorgeous hike! One of my favorites so far











Lake Blanche and Sundial peak

Location: Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah
Mill B South Fork Picnic Ground is the trailhead
Elevation to start: 6200 ft
Elevation gain/loss: 2780 ft
Distance: 6.64 miles
Difficulty: Difficult/ Strenuous

Notes: Rocky, steep trail, trekking poles needed in some psots, too narrow for other spots
